our family history
3rd generation hairdresser | siblings | 24+ years experience
Running a successful salon business clearly runs in this family! Macarthur Makeovers Founder & Owner, Donna Sillett, become a qualified hairdresser thanks to her beloved Grandfather Earle Godbee, who owned and operated his own hairdressing salon around 1961, which was located at 1413 Botany Road, Botany NSW.
Donna's father, Douglas Godbee, would spend his after school hours, and weekends at the salon with Earle. Donna remembers growing up watching her late Grandfather Earle cut hair from his garage in his retirement years. His handmade fold-out step stool that he used to get his clients to sit on for haircuts, is still featured in Macarthur Makeovers salon today.
Donna has now been hairdressing for over 24 years, and is also a qualified beauty therapist, makeup artist, nail thecnician, laser technician, and hairdressing trainer & educator. Donna proudly keeps the Godbee family tradition alive with her sister Sarah, who is also a qualified beauty therapist, nail technician, makeup artist, laser technician, and dermal therapist. The siblings have been working together since establishing their first multi award-winning salon together back in 2004.
