Donna Sillett

Donna believes that to achieve inner & outer beauty, there needs to be a perfect synergy of how we nourish & nurture our bodies from the inside-out, and has carefully selected professional brands and practitioners that align with her vision, bringing sustainable luxury to you.

Donna is a qualified Hairdresser, Beauty Therapist, Makeup Artist, Laser/IPL Technician and Nail Technician with a Diploma in Salon Management and a Certificate IV in Training & Education working in a professional hair and beauty career spanning over 24 years. Donna "fell into" hairdressing aged 16 straight from High School, completing her school work experience at her local salon because she "didn't know what else to do" and "that's what my grandfather does - so why not?"

It wasn't long before Donna started to suffer from  eczema and dermatitis on her hands and arms from the hairdressing chemicals, and suffered asthma attacks from breathing in the toxic fumes around the salon. Knowing there had to be a better way, and after years of research, Donna established her first eco-friendly and lox-toxic hair and beauty salon with her sister Sarah, aged just 23 back in 2004, and as a result Donna has since been awarded numerous local, state, national and international business awards in that time for multiple reasons including; customer service, marketing, startup innovation, sustainability, hair and beauty excellence, inspiration, and brides choice - just to name a few.

With a clear passion for sustainability, Donna has spent the past 15 years of her 24 year career specialising in eco-friendly and sustainable hair and beauty services in her numerous multi award-winning salon Spoilt Rotten Hair & Beauty Studio across Sydney, including locations such as; Croydon, Campbelltown, Eagle Vale, and Smeaton Grange which she sold in 2008.

Remaining in the industry, Donna has also previously worked as a Business Development Manager for professional hair and beauty companies such as; Sothys-Paris Skincare, Eco-Tan, Harlotte Cosmetics, and has been a Marketing Assistant for DNA Organics. Donna has also taught Hairdressing at private RTO's including; the Carrick Institute of Education at Sydney Tower and the Unique International College in Granville.

Diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2013, and told several time to "give up her job and be a stay at home mum" Donna was determined to continue working in the salon, but also needed to rest between a busy salon client schedule, and found pleasure working as a Store Manager for Price Attack, then moving on to becoming a Fashion Stylist working as a Retail Store Manager for labels such as; Autograph, Katies, SHEIKE and Dotti, during her 52kg weight loss journey. Because helping women look and feel good, so they leave loving themselves with a spring in their step is what Donna is all about!

Donna was determined remain in the industry she loved so much, and push through her pain and suffering, going on to establish her newest salon business, Macarthur Makeovers launching in Camden in 2018, specialising in pampering makeovers and mobile bridal hair & makeup, which has already seen her be recognised in no less than 33 award programs, and proudly winning 12 of those awards in the past 2 years, with no doubt many more to come...

Not one to ever sit still, Donna spent the past 18 months operating MIBA Macarthur / Sydney South West Networking Group, hosting monthly child-friendly MIBA networking events for women in business across Camden, Campbelltown and the Wollondilly regions. Through her involvement with Mums in Business Association (MIBA), Donna has gone on to be a #1 best-selling co-author of the Mumpreneur on Fire 4 book, and is currently writing her next chapter for the upcoming Mumpreneur on Fire - Australia edition, and even worked as the Head Coordinator for Australia & New Zealand for a 6 month contract in 2019, training and recruiting over 60 networking coordinators.

In her spare time (wait, what? There is spare time?) A self-confessed high-achiever and study nerd, Donna is committed to higher education and is currently studying an Advanced Diploma in Leadership & Management, working towards an MBA.

2020 has seen Donna expanding into 3 other business ventures:

No stranger to business awards, the PRIMA DONNA herself has been winning awards since she started her first business 16 years ago aged just 23, plus working as a professional business awards judge for over 3 years, encouraging and mentoring others to do the same, building a community for business owners who want regular updates and reminders up upcoming entries, tips to writing a successful entry, providing a safe space to share the highs and lows of entering awards programs to boost their brand and media exposure.

Over the past 3 years, Donna has been working as a professional business awards judge, and mystery shopper for numerous international business awards programs, including; Stevie Awards for Women in Business, Stevie International Business Awards, Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, ROAR Success Awards, Ausmumpreneur Awards, Inspiring Mum of the Year Awards and the One Planet Awards - just to name a few.

Surely there can't be anything else planned for the rest of 2020? But wait! There's more! Donna has applied to register her own not-for-profit charity, linking qualified hairdressers, beauty therapists, makeup artists, fashion stylists all coming together to provide hair, skin, makeup and styling makeovers, group lessons etc for those less fortunate and vulnerable in our community, including those who are homeless, disabled, elderly, living alone, experiencing financial hardship, or homebound suffering from medical illness - just to name a few.
